Let's dip into some recipes to inspire your chef skills!

Taco Pizza

Everybody loves a good pizza night. It's easy to host a gathering for your kids or pop a pizza in the oven on busy evenings. A taco pizza can be a great way to introduce a lot of flavors while being a low-key meal. You need a few things to make this happen:

  • Crust (whatever your family prefers)
  • Taco Meat
  • Salsa
  • Shredded Cheese
  • Shredded Lettuce

Layer your pizza depending on your family’s needs and wishes. Refried beans make a great addition to a taco pizza (even though sometimes they aren't well received by everyone.)

Chicken Tacos

When you think about how to cook with salsa, put this on your list of go-to ideas. All you need is gallon salsa and boneless skinless chicken breast. Cook the chicken on low for a few hours in a crockpot with half a gallon of salsa on top.

When the chicken is ready, pull it out, and give it a good shred. Then, put it back into the crockpot and top it off with the rest of the salsa. Stir it and serve.

Black Bean and Salsa Soup

The winter can get very busy—especially with the holidays. A good dump-and-serve meal on a chilly evening can be the perfect solution to busy nights when you’re pressed for time. Black bean and salsa soup is easy to make; you could employ your older kids to begin preparations before you get home from work.

Add black beans, salsa, chicken or beef broth, and cumin in a blender. Blend until it’s thick and smooth or until you reach the desired texture. Add the mixture into a pan over the stove until warm it’s enough to serve. Garnish it with scallions, shredded cheddar, and a dollop of sour cream.

Knowing how to cook with salsa is much simpler than one would think. So, give one of these a try with a Don Emilio favorite, and let us know what you think!
